MY PROFESSORS

The first professor that taught me the Paraguayan Harp was Professor
Juan Alberto Oliva in Santiago de Chile. I took classes with him for 5 years. When I came to live in the United States, I was incredibly lucky to find my present professor, Shirley Domínguez, who not only lives in the same city, but in the same neighborhood! I take classes with Shirley when she is not working at a renowned cruise line that navigates the Caribbean Islands. Every year I take vacations in Paraguay, where I take classes with my professor there, Professor César Cataldo who taught me how to play
"Pájaro Campana"
("Campana Bird") in a beautiful way. Since then, this has brought me great success in my radio interviews and television shows.

THE HARPIST CÉSAR CATALDO: INTERPRETER AND CREATOR

The Paraguayan Harp has had influential names in its contemporary history, amongst them César Cataldo (1951). He teaches music at a school in the capital of Paraguay. In a theoretical and practical way, he successfuly transmits essential clues to young artists in order to not only appreciate but also enjoy their musical performances. As an interpreter, he has been a part of popular Paraguayan musical groups as "Sembrador", "Juglares", "Ñamandú" and "Vocal Dos". His art has transcended national frontiers becoming a name in Brasil, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Mexico, United States, Canada, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden and Norway.
